If you are wondering what to buy Dad for Father’s Day then look no further than a great book about meat: The River Cottage Meat Book.
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is the rough-haired country geek of TV fame that grows and harvests his own livestock.
“It first of all covers the basics – everything you’ll need to know about choosing the very best raw materials, understanding the different cuts and the cooking techniques associated with each of them.”
The recipe book has had great reviews from other well respected chefs and food writers.
Philippa Davenport from the Financial Times says: “Everyone who eats meat should have a copy, and some who have stopped eating meat may find reasons in it to reconsider meat-eating in a fresh light”.
So go and buy Dad a copy. You can order it in New Zealand from Fishpond, or in USA and abroad from Amazon.
Yes, this is an excellent book. I bought it about a month ago from bookdepository.co.uk – imported it into NZ for less than it can be bought for in NZ. It’s a must read for any person who enjoys their meat. It’s definitely one of the better food related books in my collection.
Thanks for the comment/review. I can’t say I’ve read the book but the beef ribs under his arm looked stupendous. Keep checking back for new recipes and meat action.
This book is outstanding and offers much to the reader not just recipes but discussion about many other aspects of meat and food.
Hours of pleasure just browsing the pages and daydreaming.
